Food was delicious, and service was great. The restaurant is very colorful, aesthetic, and nostalgic. Large portions and very tall pours of beer. I never wrote reviews but this place is underlined so I want people to know.
Love this place! The super friendly people and the incredible food make me happy! Try the chicken soup, loaded with veggies and chicken and the most incredible broth; you're gonna love it!
My FAVORITE sit down Mexican place in Louisville. Great food, great drinks, decent prices, great service! I've been here with family as well as for a night out with friends and their margaritas are EXCELLENT. They also have specials for food/drinks in certain days of the week! I recommend the steak fajitas, their tamales, and the frozen margarita (any flavor!).
FOUR STARS PLUS!!! FIVE STARS PLUS FOR FOOD!! This Jeffersontown location is in a strip mall. Several other eateries there now. The inside is much prettier than you would expect. The best Mexican I've eaten for the price. Delicious salsa plus a spicy ranch flavored dip....yum! Big portions, a queso like topping if u choose rather than traditional red sauce. Queso delicious on huge seafood burritos entree. Was with 14 others. Everyone loved what they got. Bargain lunch specials. LOOK UP for DAILY specials!! Very Quick service...even a speedy Gonzalez menu if u are on the run. Servers very prompt and friendly. Just one thing....if you choose a virgin drink, our experience....you will not get it. She said she understood, but after drinking half of my Marguerita, she said YES, there is liquor in it!! She just laughed, nervously I suppose. She appeared to not understand. We take meds that interfere with the alcohol...had to sit there an hour longer!! We were ok with that but I could see a guy just receiving his pin from AA, headed for disaster. Seriously!! This was not my first visit...I absolutely will return but sad than I cannot trust the staff with a nice mocktail for me!!
It was pretty tasty; it's just not the absolute best in town. Service was top notch and the restaurant is very cozy and colorful.

Our first time at The Yellow Cactus! My sons and I came for lunch, ordering cheese dip to enjoy with our chips and salsa. I enjoyed both their mild and spicier salsa. Good flavors. I'm already craving it for tomorrow. My youngest traditionally ordered a cheeseburger with fries (his version of Mexican). The burger was massive! My other son enjoyed the 2 tacos with rice and I did the combo with a burrito, taco and rice. So much food! I couldn't even make it to the taco. Lots of beef stuffed inside. Friendly service and attentive, bringing us chip and drink refills. Plenty of indoor seating (no outdoor patio) so this is a good spot for groups. Colorful, bright colors. Clean bathroom and huge parking lot.
Super amazing as always!!!! I have my muse, Chori pollo with spinach & mushrooms as always cause I don't want no body else baby. Lol my daughter got a carnitas burrito- she had to order it specifically it's not on the menu- so chicken add carnitas boom she's happy!
